Kent is a long-established international cigarette brand that was first introduced in the United States in 1952 by the Lorillard Tobacco Company. It gained popularity for its innovative"Micronite" filter, which was marketed as offering a higher level of filtration and was seen at the time as a "healthier" option. After several corporate changes, Kent is now owned and marketed globally by British American Tobacco (BAT). Today, Kent is widely sold in Asia (including Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Malaysia), Eastern Europe (such as Russia and Ukraine), the Middle East, and parts of Latin America. Its presence in the U.S. has significantly declined over the years.
